Pearla Pigao

Pearla Pigao is an artist, musician, and craftsperson based in Oslo. With a background in music and an MFA in textile from Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Pigao's work explores the common ground of sound and material through interactive installations of digitally hand-woven textiles.

Pigao has had several exhibitions in Norway and abroad, including solo exhibitions at Galleri Format (2017) and Soft galleri (2020) – both in Oslo, and during Chart Art Fair in Copenhagen (2018). Moreover, she has participated in several group exhibitions at, among other places, Kunstnerforbundet in Oslo (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), Chart Art Fair in Copenhagen (2018), The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo (2022) and at Kunsthall Trondheim during the Hannah Ryggen Triennale (2022).

Pearla Pigao was a guest editor together with Stian Korntved Ruud for the sixth issue of The Vessel titled Modulating Craft.
