Elin Haugdal

Elin Haugdal is a Professor of Art History at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, specialising in architectural history and theory, design, and the visual culture of the Arctic and the Circumpolar North. Her research covers a wide range of topics, including Sámi art and architecture, vernacular photography in Svalbard, and the landscapes and gardens of Northern Norway. She has also investigated contemporary monumental architecture in Norway, including new author museums. Haugdal's interdisciplinary approach integrates materiality, indigeneity, and ecological perspectives, contributing to the broader discourse of environmental humanities. She is currently the head of the research group Worlding Northern Art (WONA).
