Kari Christensen

Kari Margrethe Christensen (1938–1997) was a Norwegian ceramicist known for her innovative work in porcelain and ceramics. She studied at the Norwegian School of Crafts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, and in 1966 she established her own workshop in Oslo, where she experimented with various clay types and glazes. Christensen gained international recognition, winning a gold medal at the 1971 International Ceramics Biennale in Venice. Renowned for her delicate, nature-inspired designs, she left a lasting mark on Norwegian porcelain art, notably with her acclaimed public art work Kilden (1982) at Oslo's Police House.
