Gjertrud Steinsvåg

Gjertrud Steinsvåg (b. 1978) is the director at ROM for Art and Architecture in Oslo, Norway. Until 2015 she was head of international projects at Norwegian Crafts. Steinsvåg has an art degree from Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2001-2006) and a degree in curatorial practice from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (2010-2012). Recent curatorial work includes These are a few of her favorite things – Jorunn Veiteberg's jewelery collection (Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum, Trondheim, 2018), Grand Old Ladies & New Kids on the Block (Gallery F 15, Moss, 2016) and Pottery is Back! (Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo, 2016).

Steinsvåg has contributed to several publications on craft, among others the exhibition catalogue for Beyond G(l)aze in 2015. She was the editor for KUNSTforum 3/2015, Documents on Contemporary Crafts No. 2: Materiality Matters (2014), Norwegian Crafts Magazine, issue 2/2013 and the online publication Never Mind the Benefits (Feil Forlag, 2012).
