Torbjørn Kvasbø is a Norwegian ceramic artist born in 1953, who lives and works in Venabygd, Norway. Kvasbø attended the Bergen School of Applied Arts from 1975–1978. Kvasbø defines himself as an abstract expressionist, which is evident in his sculptural works that explore the potentials and possibilities of clay and various firing techniques.

Kvasbø is represented by numerous museums and galleries, both in Norway and internationally. Throughout his career, Kvasbø has exhibited his works across the world. Among his latest exhibitions, we find Bundles of Energy at CAFA Art Museum, China, Forces of Nature at the National Ceramics Museum of Sévres and Kode Art Museums and Composer Homes, Bergen, Beyond G(l)aze – a collaborative exhibition between Suzhou Jinji Lake Art Museum, Kode Art Museums and Composer Homes and Norwegian Crafts, and Les Flammes at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.

In 2017, Kvasbø won the Grand Prize at the Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale organised by Korea Ceramic Foundation – a recognition that positioned him as one of the leading ceramic artists in the world. He also holds the position of president at the International Academy of Ceramics.
