Dorothée Perret

Dorothée Perret is a French independent editor, creative director, and publisher based in Los Angeles.

In the 1990s she studied fashion design at Studio Berçot, Paris, and at the end of the decade created ready-to-wear collections under her own name that were covered by the international press and sold to retailers around the world. She won the prestigious Andam Fashion Award Paris (1999), which led to her first fashion show at Centre Pompidou.

In 2004, Perret worked with Purple co-founder Olivier Zahm to develop the biannual publication Purple Fashion, where she was Production Director through 2007. In 2008, Perret founded DoPe Press, publisher of the arts publication PARIS LA as well as artist’s books and art editions by Liz Craft, Ligia Dias, K8 Hardy, Alex Hubbard, Pentti Monkkonen, Cédric Rivrain, and Oscar Tuazon. The house has been a regular participant in the annual Printed Matter Art Book Fair and remains committed to its stated mission as “a press for artists.”
