Malin Bülow (b. 1979, Jönköping, Sweden) is an artist based in Oslo, working at the intersection between performance, installation, and sculpture.

Bülow works with elastic, translucent membranes and contemporary dancers to explore the liminal space between inside and outside. The membranes, often monumental in size, anchors to rigid structures in the host-architecture, rendering geometric symmetry fused with corporeal presence. Her works can be described as elastic interventions in a constant state of flux, originating in explorations of the self and the binary act of seeking liberation while humbly embracing dependency.

Bülow received her BFA at Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam (2012) and her MFA at the National Academy of Fine Arts, Oslo (2016). She also holds a MSc in Neuroscience from Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam (2008) and a BSc in Molecular Biology from Lund University, Lund (2006).

Her latest selected solo-exhibitions include Pablo Atchugarry Foundation at Piero Atchugarry Art Center (US) (2023), Rosendal Teater (2023), Art Night at Haugar Art Museum (2023), MRK Kunstsenter (2022), Oslo Opera House (2020) and Galleri BOA (2020). Her latest selected group exhibitions include: Bodø Biennale (2022), Contextile – Contemporary Textile Art Biennial (PT) (2022), Lustwarande (NL) (2021), Malmö Art Museum (SE) (2020) and Lyon Contemporary Art Biennale (FR) (2019).

Her work is included in the permanent collections of Malmö Art Museum and MAC – Modern Art Museum in Lyon.
